Situated in the heart of the historic walled city of Lucca, this was a single large apartment just 30m from the famous main shopping street the via Fillungo.
The brief was to create two independant luxury apartments making maximum use of the high ceilings , large tall windows and the beautifull frescos to the ceilings.
The apartment was split in two along the centre using the existing structural walls as much as possible to retain the proportions and character of the original building interior.
The apartments were completely renovated retaining the ceiling frescos, the high windows and recovering some 18th century fresocs uncovered on the walls.
The two apartments have been restored in a crisp modern style with the use of natural oak floors, marble and stone to the beautifully detailed bathrooms and modern fully fitted kitchens.
The effect has created a very modern bright interior whilst retaining the beautiful frescos and historic feel of the original palazzo.
